Kate GeitnerKate Geitner

Kate Geitner hails from the suburbs of Chicago and relocated to New York about three years ago.  As a geriatric social worker, she is the Director of the East Side Case Management Consortium at Lenox Hill Neighborhood House, a program working to keep 1,100 frail seniors independent in their homes.  Kate has always had a passion for working with seniors and considers herself blessed to spend her days among so much wisdom.  Kate received her MSW/Specialist in Aging degree from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor in 2005; she received her Bachelor's of Social Work at University of Texas at Austin in 2004.

Kate is an active member of her synagogue, Congregation Beth Simchat Torah.  She is on the leadership team of their social justice initiative, Koleinu.  With Koleinu she advocates for marriage equality and other equal rights issues related to LGBT persons.

Kate completed a Conservative conversion to Judaism on April 10th, 2008 and feels a deep connection to Jewish values and traditions.  She visited Israel for the first time in January, 2008 and is ecstatic to be returning.
