About the Fellowship

ABOUT THE SHAPIRO FAMILY FELLOWSHIP

The Shapiro Family Fellowship creates a unique opportunity for young Jewish adults to deepen their personal knowledge and appreciation of Israeli life and society, and to strengthen their Jewish identity and personal connections to Israel. The fourth round of Fellowships will be awarded in 2011 to individuals aged 22-28 who are working towards establishing themselves in their chosen career, and are interested in deepening their connections to Israel and the Jewish people as part of an intellectually challenging fellowship community. Fellows must currently live in the greater New York metropolitan area and are required to have previously been to Israel.

Each fellowship includes:

  • A fully paid 17-day trip to Israel, featuring exclusive meetings with Israeli professionals and experts in the fellows' chosen careers, as well as other leaders;
  • Participation in 2 pre-trip meetings and 3 post-trip Institutes to be held in the New York area throughout the 2011-2012 fellowship year;
  • Access to the growing community and network of Shapiro Family Fellows, mentors and peers.
