The Shapiro Family Fellowship creates a unique opportunity for young Jewish adults to deepen their personal knowledge and appreciation of Israeli life and society, and to strengthen their Jewish identity and personal connections to Israel. The fifth round of Fellowships will be awarded in 2012 to individuals aged 22-28 who are working towards establishing themselves in their chosen career, and are interested in deepening their connections to Israel and the Jewish people as part of an intellectually challenging fellowship community. Each fellowship includes:
- A fully paid 10-day trip to Israel, featuring exclusive meetings with Israeli professionals and experts in the fellows' chosen careers, as well as other leaders; fellows will travel to Israel June 27-July 8, 2012 from New York metropolitan airports
- Participation in 2 pre-trip meetings and 3 post-trip Institutes to be held in the New York area throughout the 2012-2013 fellowship year;
- Access to the growing community and network of Shapiro Family Fellows, mentors and peers.
