angela friedmanAngela Friedman

Angela Friedman is a professional costume artist and full-time optimist. She is currently the head of the ladies' department of the New York City Ballet costume shop, where she works with the designers to turn their renderings into real clothing. She drafts patterns, fits the dancers, and supervises the construction of all of the Ballet's tutus and dresses. She also runs a freelance business focusing on theater, historical fashion, and cabaret costumes. She works from a small studio in midtown but has clients all over the world. Her other interests include baking and cake decorating, running, belly dance, and singing when she thinks no one is listening. In her spare time, she can be found exploring new restaurants; spending quality time with her cat Clarence; and attending services, lectures, and events at Central Synagogue.
