MEET THE FELLOWS

jamieJamie Betesh

A native New Yorker, Jamie Betesh was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. She began her career as an intern in the editorial department at Disney's FamilyFun magazine. After earning a B.A. in journalism from University of Massachusetts Amherst, Jamie served in the ad sales marketing group at the Hallmark Channel before moving to promotions marketing at the Cartoon Network.

Quickly mastering all things kids, Jamie handled the network's partner promotions with such major corporations as Hasbro, Kraft, and Johnson & Johnson. She also worked with the United States Food and Drug Administration to help create a breakthrough campaign to teach kids how to read nutrition labels through public-service announcements and a microsite featuring popular Cartoon Network characters.

Determined to merge her passion for social change with her career, Jamie joined BBMG, a branding and integrated marketing firm dedicated to helping socially responsible clients enhance their communications. As a brand strategist, Jamie has contributed recently to branding and marketing projects for the Case Foundation, Public Citizen, PENCIL, The Gould Foundation, Co-op America, and Baruch College.

When she's not writing creative briefs, Jamie teaches weekly tap-dance classes at a nonprofit dance studio for girls in Harlem and volunteers for the American Friends of Magen David Adom and UJA-Federation of New York.
