Legal and Business Affairs Manager, Birthright Israel NEXT

Born in Queens and raised on Long Island, Ruvym moved to Manhattan at 17 to attend New York University's College of Arts and Science, where he studied English literature and politics. He went on to New York University School of Law, graduating with a J.D. in 2006. While at law school, Ruvym participated in a Birthright Israel trip in winter 2004 - 2005.

Upon returning, Ruvym became very engaged in Jewish life and Israeli politics. During his last year of law school, he was asked to serve as the student president of Chabad Serving NYU. In the last few years Ruvym has further expanded his involvement within the Jewish world through his membership in the Jewish Enrichment Center's Young Philanthropist Committee, which donates member-generated contributions to Jewish charities; participation in the Anti-Defamation League's Glass Young Leadership Committee; and continued contributions to Chabad Serving NYU as an alumni donor. Since the Fall of 2007, Ruvym has been involved in Birthright Israel NEXT's spoken-word show I.D., in which he is one of 15 individuals who perform original pieces about Jewish identity. Most recently, in September, 2008, after returning from the Shapiro Fellowship trip, Ruvym left his job at a corporate law firm to become Birthright Israel NEXT's Legal and Business Affairs Manager.

Outside of work and Jewish life, Ruvym is also adamant about his opinions, which he openly expresses on his blog - http://ruvym.blogspot.com.
