Sara Hahn
Sara Hahn is a graduate student at Columbia University, where she is studying for a M.S. in Social Work with a focus in International Social Welfare. Sara was a 2009-10 Dorot Fellow, spending a year in Israel volunteering as a facilitator for Encounter, learning Jewish text at Pardes, and working on a photography project in the Israeli Arab coastal town of Jisr az-Zarqa.
Sara spent three years working as a Communications Associate at American Jewish World Service (AJWS), where she wrote for the web, print, and press about issues concerning Judaism and social justice. She lived in Mumbai, India as a World Partners Fellow, where she volunteered for a women's rights organization. She has studied abroad in Ireland and Turkey, and has previously worked for the Middle East Institute in Washington, D.C. and the International Rescue Committee in San Diego, California.
Originally from Los Angeles, Sara graduated magna cum laude from the University of California, San Diego, in 2005 with a degree in Literature and Middle East Studies.
