MEET THE FELLOWS

yuriYuri Kruman

3rd Year Law Student

Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law

After growing up in Moscow, Yuri moved with his family to Lexington, Kentucky at 9. He made his first trip to Israel after his junior year of high school.

At the University of Pennsylvania, he was pre-med, majoring in neuropsychology and anthropology, with a minor in Spanish. He was involved in the Philomathean Society, a two century-old literary and debate society; the Philosophy Circle; Hillel; Chabad; and PennPAC, an Israel advocacy group. At this time, he became more familiar with Orthodoxy and more observant. After college, Yuri went to Israel for the second time, with birthright israel.

Upon his return, he began a neuroscience Ph.D. program at New York University. He also launched a Jewish social-networking start-up. Realizing his greater interest in people over lab animals, he left graduate school to set his sights on law school.

Yuri is currently in his third year at Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. As he finishes his J.D., Yuri plans to become a serial entrepreneur, Jewish philanthropist, and writer. He is currently penning a novel, also making the most of New York's art, film and foodie scenes. He resides in Manhattan's Murray Hill neighborhood.
